Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The crispy batter of the fish, adored by many, is perfectly seasoned and doesn’t fall off, ensuring each bite is a pleasure. The chips receive rave reviews; their golden, crisp exterior gives way to soft, fluffy interiors, making them a classic companion to the fish. Diners often highlight the mushy peas as a standout, lovingly prepared without artificial colors. Families enjoy the kid’s box options, a thoughtful touch that keeps little ones happy and satisfied. The inviting and energetic staff frequently receive mention for their friendliness and dedication to customers, enhancing the dining experience. And let’s not forget the variety of pies offered—steak & kidney, peppered steak, and cheese & onion are must-tries.

Most Disliked

A few diners express concerns about the occasional wait time, especially during peak hours. While the food is worth the wait, some patrons prefer faster service. Since the venue operates on a takeaway basis, seating can feel limited, which may deter those looking to dine in comfortably. Occasionally, certain menu items experience popularity spikes that can lead to temporary unavailability, which can be frustrating for eager customers. It's also worth noting that on busier days, food freshness can wane slightly due to high demand, but most agree the quality remains commendable.

A mini deal. Chips, crisp on outside & creamy inside with perfectly drained lightly battered soft flaked fish with small pot of natural looking mushy peas (not a livid food coloured green) all combined to amply satisfy a smaller appetite. Lucky to have such a little gem of traditional food heaven on the doorstep with such a happy crew!

The best chippy in the area. The food is always amazing, the staff are friendly, Steve is so passionate about the food he produces and refuses to use cheap ingredients. They have such a wonderfully tasty menu, you have to try everything.
